That is my alliteration for the day.
Bondi was absolutely gorgeous! The view, the shopping area, the people, the paths, and the natural beauty that surrounds it was remarkable to me, this time around. When I was here a few years ago, I didn't remember it being this awesome. I suppose it's because it was a little colder, then when I was here.
We began our day bright and early, probably the earliest we've woken up here in Australia. It's been quite a challenge for Lara and I to get up at about 9 am in the past two weeks we've been here since we're still on Thailand's time. But we managed to do so, since it's been a few weeks since our last beach bummy day and I was anxious to go after such bad weather. We took an express bus from Circular Quay to Bondi, which was about a 15 minute bus ride out to the beach... and we were off!
Apparently, Bondi beach attracts several celebrities, nude sun-bathers and perverts. I was told by my cousin's husband that a national show called Bondi Rescue has aired some stories about several celebrities bumming on this beach like Paris Hilton. Alongside the celebrity fame of this beach from the show is the airing of real life rescues. Bondi beach is home to some gnarly waves, attracting surf-enthusiasts all around the world... and perverts. Apparently also, this show tracks (mainly) men who take pictures of nude sun-bathers or of women in general and penalize them for their crime of being desperate sleeze balls.
Some photos for you to vicariously experience the beauty of Bondi:
I love graffiti! Sweet work welcoming beach goers on the walls near the skate park
You can catch behind us the film crew watching out for potential rescues
Look how many people there are!
We took a stroll down a scenic path onto the opposite side of
the beach and decided to take a few shots
A pool alongside the ocean. This is actually part of the Bondi gym
Toys, try to spot out some surfers if you can!
During our stroll, we passed by a bar where several
kegs are nicely situated, ready for consumption
Dead fish that we found along our mini hike
Poor guy
The rocks
Breath-taking stroll
As we continued to walk, we saw that there were 2 beaches in the distance.
This was the first beach, Tamarama (the only one of the two we went to).
Btw, check out the potential skin cancer!
Yikes.
"Island in the Sun" was perfectly playing when I turned on my ipod. =)

We bummed at the beach for a few hours and finally made our way back to the city. I re-discovered that Australia's UV's are relentless and in result, found red skid marks surrounding my crotch area where I neglected to rub sunblock over. Burrrrrrrn. Oh and I'm not the only one who left with souvenirs, every single one of us found red on our bodies. Aloe vera, where are you?
Besides the burns, we had an enjoyable day at the beach. I used to dislike going to the beach when I was younger, but not until recently have I found an appreciation and honest pleasure in going. Since my life has winded down and I've allowed myself to darken and be barely clad, lounging at the beach actually sounds fun. =)
With that being said, more beach, please.
