Future with Isara

Here's a list of some future events and projects we're planning
  • Halloween party on Friday- We've already started making decorations today. Party, Bell, Lara and I already started making decorations to hang around the house to give the Isara house a ghoulish feeling. I'm excited to see how everything will turn out since this is my first Halloween in a different country. I'll post pictures of the party later. Here's 2 pictures of our preparation:
Bell and his Dracula! He's very artistic, he had a few more pending as the day progressed.

Some ghost lollipops we made as the prizes. We're on a budget, so creativity is a must!
  • Hmong Blessing Ceremony in November- Ming, Lara and I went over to the Hmong refugee center this morning to drop off donations and to speak with the officials to have a formal blessing ceremony co-hosted with local Monks sometime in November. The projected date is the 17th. I will write more about the Hmong refugees story and who they are as the ceremony approaches.
  • Isara Radio Station- On the first few days of Lara and I being here, we already began to work. We painted an extension room outside of the house that will soon be housing a national radio station. Kirk and Ming have been working extremely hard to grab hold of potential sponsors, hopefully with the kick start of this radio station, several will be attracted.
Kirk will probably hate this photo, but oh well. Here's a small glimpse of the room
  • Teaching with Isara- Still on the go! Every MWF is a different expereince for us. We are more than happy to be here with these kids. I feel like I appreciate my teachers from my primary days even more with this experience-- teaching could be quite draining and strenuous. Being mindful, patience seems to be the key. =]
That's all for now, hopefully I can add more soon!
