After 13 hours of rampant turbulence, Lara and I are here in Taipei awaiting our next flight to Bangkok!
Departures are never easy for me (they usually involve buckets of tears and warm longing embraces)-- especially when they're for an extended time. I had a great group come along to see me off yesterday. It's almost become routine for them to see me off when I leave to distant places (yeah, I know... this is only the 2nd time!) Nonetheless, I felt the genuine love and companionship from each and every one of them. My mom substituted tears of sadness with laughter and smiles, my dad with the precautionary "be good okay?", and many friends wished Lara & I luck on our future endeavors in Asia. Thank you guys for coming. I miss you all, already!
Upon boarding, we came across two adorable little girls who wanted me to take pictures of them after I took the one after. I don't know the little girl's name to the right (she spoke a different language), but the other is Caitlin. They're so cute!
Get familiar with these shots.
They're our feet.
They're going to take us through this journey safely.
I'm thrilled to have another set come along with me.
Lara, here we go!
